John Holland take on commercial CBD site
The acquisition of the former ANZ Bank Building at 275 George Street and capital investment into new development represent a new direction from John Holland's. They are now focusing on becoming a fully integrated infrastructure and property company. Chief Executive Officer Joe Barr; said locating in the heart of Sydney's CBD; the company will benefit from the ongoing infrastructure projects by the NSW State Government nearby. We are now involved in significant developments in Sydney; Brisbane and Adelaide and focused on a number of other opportunities across the country; he said. Tom Roche; Executive General Manager; Development & Investments; explained the development would contribute economic benefits to the State. This development will deliver a boost to the local economy; create more than 300 construction-related jobs during the development phase and ultimately house more than 400 office workers; he added. The company is now targeting commercial and retail tenants; who would run their businesses in the centre of the city benefiting from the different transport connections available to them. The development is aligned with the rising demand for premium office space in Sydney CBD. The 14-level building provides approximately 7;000 square metres of office and retail space. A Development Application has been approved to build a similar scale office with premium grade services and amenities. John Holland is responsible for all development and construction of the new building and will finish the works by the end of 2019.
